Charge Capture, Dictation and Results Viewing are Cornerstones of New Mobile Initiative
Boston, MA - September 14, 2004 - MedAptus Inc., today announced that its mobile charge capture and dictation applications will be installed at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston, as the organization launches a comprehensive mobile computing initiative. Recently named the top cancer hospital in the United States by U.S. News and World Report for the third consecutive year, M. D. Anderson will be providing the majority of its physicians with MedAptus' Charges In Hand™ and Notes In Hand™ applications to both streamline workflow and improve operational efficiencies.
M. D. Anderson plans on deploying Charges In Hand, for point-of-care charge capture in both inpatient and outpatient settings, along with integrated Notes In Hand, for point-of-care encounter documentation, and clinical results viewing via Mercury MD's MData® Enterprise System, to a pilot group of 50 physicians later this year. M. D. Anderson will then roll-out the applications to another 400 physicians, over the next two years.
M. D. Anderson collaborated with MedAptus after assembling a multi-disciplinary team, including physicians, administrators, information technology professionals, compliance and medical record personnel, to complete a multi-vendor, RFP process over a six-month period.
