Boston, MA - September 03, 2003 - MedAptus, Inc. today announced the release of the company's latest version of their industry leading Charges in Hand™ mobile coding solution. The latest version, 4.0, offers medical practices the opportunity to improve practice workflow, financial performance and compliance by providing physicians with a powerful mobile charge capture solution. Charges in Hand 4.0 enables medical practices the opportunity to replace cumbersome and error-prone paper based charge capture systems by extending technology to the hands of physicians. Physician-specific patient appointment data are synchronized to each physician's handheld device. Physicians then capture procedure and diagnostic code data for each patient visit and, upon completion, synchronize the data to an administrative interface where charges can be reviewed prior to entry into the practice billing system. Using the administrative interface, practice staff can enter appointment schedules, review completed charges and track activity by physician, by patient or across the entire practice, both in-patient and out-patient.
Using the intuitive graphical interface of the Charges in Hand 4.0, physicians can more easily identify procedures performed and rapidly access all of the ICD-9-CM diagnosis and CPT-4 procedure codes. Physician-indicated charges are automatically reviewed against over one million national and regional Medicare billing guidelines using sophisticated rule-sets to assure confident, accurate and standardized physician coding at the point of care.
