What’s New in Assign 25.1

We’re excited to share the latest improvements in Medaptus Assign! In this release, you’ll see features you’ve requested in the past, as well as new features that give you more visibility into your hospital medicine department.  

New Executive Analytics Dashboard 

• What’s new: A powerful dashboard with four customizable reports, built for leadership insights. 

• Why it matters: Easily track key trends in your organization, drill into details by hovering over charts, and download data for deeper analysis. This puts actionable insights right at your fingertips. This first iteration includes four reports: AM Assignments Count, Admissions and Discharges, Average Patients per Provider, and Assigned Providers per Hospitalization.  

• How to get the new dashboard: Contact your Account Manager here to get this feature turned on  

Here’s a quick overview of why these reports can help your team:  

• AM Assignments Count: Identify high or low census days, helping leadership anticipate staffing needs, workload distribution, and potential burnout risks.  

• Admissions and Discharges: Identify bottlenecks (e.g., low discharges, meaning longer length of stay), surges in admissions that might require temporary resource reallocation and the balance between admissions and discharges, crucial for hospital throughput and capacity planning 

• Average Patients per Provider: Assess workload equity. Monitor provider-to-patient ratios, and identify gaps or overutilization in staffing and scheduling. 

• Assigned Providers per Hospitalization: Easily see the number of different providers each patient encountered during their stay. High numbers signal excessive handoffs (increased risk of communication errors or a lack of care coordination) and reduced continuity of care. 

New Audit Role 

• What’s new: A dedicated role that lets users review patient visits, assignment histories, and user actions. 

• Why it matters: Resolve common support questions faster by checking details yourself—no need to wait on support. Get clear visibility into patient and staff activity and any actions that were performed, whenever you need it. Easily see changes in a patient’s assignment history – and who made them.  

Smarter Census Management 

• Indicator Column in Census Manager: Automatically marks patients with important flags, like special insurance or 30-day readmissions, so staff can make quicker, more informed decisions. 

• Last Refresh Timestamp: Always know when your census was last updated and if others are refreshing, ensuring you’re working with the latest information. 

• Auto-Refresh Option: No more manual refreshes! Choose how often your Census Manager updates automatically (as frequently as every 5 minutes). Updates happen in the background so your work isn’t interrupted. 

In short: This release gives leaders powerful analytics, empowers staff with more self-service tools, and makes census management easier and more reliable—all while boosting system performance and security.
